Script vs Gothic
Cursive script mimics flowing handwriting, all connected curves and slanted strokes. It reads as friendly and casual, which is why it shows up so often in bios and captions. Bold script keeps the same shape but thickens the strokes for more presence.
Gothic, also called fraktur, is a different tradition entirely, based on old blackletter typefaces rather than handwriting. It has a heavier, more formal feel and works well for a single dramatic word, though it is harder to read at length than script or bold.
